Taking Care of Your New Tattoo
Standard Aftercare
1. Remove bandage in 1-2 hours.
2. Wash new tattoo in lukewarm water with Dial non-scented antibacterial soap until surface ink and ointment is washed away.
3. Dry your tattoo by dabbing it with a paper towel. Do not use your bath towel as it may harbor bad bacteria.
4. Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor 2-3 times throughout the day for about 3-4 weeks.
5. Continue using unscented moisturizer daily until the tattoo is fully healed (no more peeling or dry, cracked looking skin).
6. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH at the tattoo at all as this can damage it during healing.
7. Avoid swimming and sun tanning for at least 3 weeks.
8. DO NOT re-bandage the tattoo after the initial bandage is removed.

Saniderm Aftercare
1. Keep the Saniderm on for 3-5 days. You can shower with it, but try not to soak the area too much, it will weaken the adhesive. Avoid taking baths.
2. You might see a buildup of blood and plasma mixed with ink under the Saniderm, this is perfectly normal. If there's a large amount of buildup or any leaking, you may remove the Saniderm. \
3. Once you remove the Saniderm from your tattoo, make sure to gently wash it with unscented antibacterial soap and pat or air dry.
4. Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor 2-3 times a day for 3-4 weeks until the tattoo is fully healed (no more peeling or dry, cracked looking skin).
5. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH at the tattoo at all as this can damage it during healing.
6. Avoid swimming and sun tanning for at least 3 weeks.
7. DO NOT re-bandage the tattoo after initial bandage is removed.
