Rates & Payment
My minimum is $120, and I charge by piece. Please reach out to maeyi.tattoos@gmail.com with reference photos and an approximate size if you would like an estimate!
I accept cash, card, Venmo, or Zelle. Please note that there is a 2.7% processing fee for card payments.
A deposit is a non-refundable payment (between $50-150) that secures your tattoo appointment. It helps to cover the time and preparation involved in creating your custom design and guarantees that the appointment will be honored.
Tattoo artists don't get paid for being at the studio, so if I'm not tattooing I'm not getting paid. A deposit protects me from last-minute cancellations or no-shows, which can be disruptive to my schedule and livelihood.
The deposit amount is applied to the total cost of your tattoo, with the remaining balance due on the day of your session. Deposits are non-refundable but are valid for one reschedule if needed. Please follow the link below for my full deposit policy.
Nope, tipping is never required, but always appreciated! I set my own rates and do not rely on tips to make a living. It’s also important to note that tipping practices will never affect your chances of getting into my books.
Minor adjustments to your design usually don’t affect the price. However, significant changes from what was initially outlined in your appointment submission form could impact the cost, and may require rescheduling depending on time constraints. I follow the details in your submission form closely, so it’s important that the client is clear about their design preferences. If you're unsure or thinking about making changes, feel free to reach out to me beforehand to double-check. Any additional costs resulting from changes to the design will be the responsibility of the client.
Tattoos are a luxury service, and the fine line style, in particular, is very popular right now. The demand for this style often exceeds supply, especially in suburban areas, which is reflected in the pricing. Additionally, the cost of tattoo supplies can be quite high, as many items used during the process are one-time-use and disposable. These factors, combined with the time, skill, and attention to detail required to create a quality tattoo, contribute to the overall cost of the service.
That being said, I try to run discounted tattoo sales every other month, offering special pricing on select designs. These events give you the chance to get a tattoo at a more affordable rate while still maintaining the high-quality standards I strive for.
Unfortunately, no to both.
Yes, I do accept trades! Please reach out to me via email at maeyi.tattoos@gmail.com or through Instagram @mae.tattoo to discuss the details. I’m particularly interested in taxidermied birds, swords, and carousel horses right now, but I’m open to other antique items as well. I’m not currently interested in trading for beauty services.
